Will Discuss Role of Public Dialogue in Community-building

Dr. W. Barnett Pearce, a leading communication scholar, will
visit The University of Memphis to present a lecture Tuesday,
March 6. His talk, "Community Building in the 21st Century
Through Public Dialogue," will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fogelman
Executive Center. A reception hosted by Africa in April and
radio station WUMR will follow.
Pearce
has served as a senior visiting fellow at Oxford University
as well as a Fulbright scholar in Argentina. He is a member
of the faculty of the Human and Organizational Development
Program at the Fielding Institute, co-principal of Pearce
Associates and a founding member of the Public Dialogue Consortium.
Pearce
is the author of seven books and more than 100 articles on
communication.
The
lecture, which is free and open to the public, is the fourth
presentation in the Michael M. Osborn Lecture Series hosted
by The U of M Department of Communication. For more information,
