"We're
creating a control mechanism based on brain studies,"
said symposium organizer Robert Kozma. "Networks of neurons
are the basis of the understanding and construction of biologically-inspired
computing systems for sensing, control and navigation."
Kozma
is an associate professor of computer science at The U of
M and director of the Institute for Intelligent Systems Computational
Neurodynamics Laboratory, which will become a part of the
FedEx Technology Institute when it opens this fall.
