January
17 is the fee-payment deadline for University of Memphis students
who register before the first day of classes of the spring
2003 semester. Classes at the University begin January 21.
Students
who register during late registration must pay by January
24. In addition, they must pay a $100 late registration fee
if they register Jan. 21-24.
Students
are required by Tennessee Board of Regents policy to pay at
least half of their enrollment fee balance (remaining after
awards such as financial aid, scholarships, or scholarship/waivers
are applied) by the payment deadline, or else they face deletion
from their class rolls.
Removal
of students from classes for non-payment of fees will occur
after the first week of classes at the University. This will
allow students who are unable to pay on time an opportunity
to complete payment before they are deleted from the class
rolls.
Once
students are deleted from class rolls, there is no opportunity
to re-register for the spring semester. To be considered for
reinstatement, a student must submit, through a written appeals
process, documentation of unusually extreme extenuating circumstances
for missing the deadline. If the appeal is approved, immediate
payment of the balance is required.
