Yarbrough Will Open Writers' Series Feb. 2

The
University of Memphis will open its spring 2004 River City
Writers Series Monday, Feb., 2, when author Steve Yarbrough
presents a fiction writing workshop at 1 p.m. in Patterson
Hall, Room 403. The event is free and open to the public.
Yarbrough,
who holds an endowed chair at Fresno State University, is
the author of several books, including Visible Spirits, Family
Men and The Oxygen Man. He has also written the short story
collections Veneer and Mississippi History. His awards include
the California Book Award, the Mississippi Institute of Arts
and Letters Award for Fiction and the Mississippi Author's
Award.
