Speech and Hearing Center Will Hold Grand Opening Feb. 6

The University of Memphis Speech and Hearing Center ­– East will hold its grand opening Tuesday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. The new facility is located at 4075 Park Avenue, across from the former location on the University’s South Campus. The entrance is off of Getwell.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Refreshments and tours of the Center will be available.  Reservations are requested for the reception; they may be made by calling 678-5800. 

The Memphis Speech and Hearing Center, with its main location downtown, was established in 1947 to provide a full range of clinical services to individuals with communication disorders. Since 1967, the Center has been affiliated with the University of Memphis and is the site of the University’s School of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology. The east location was opened in 1974.
