Richard Ranta Elected to Southern Arts Federation Board

Dr.
Richard R. Ranta, dean of the College of Communication and
Fine Arts at The University of Memphis, has been elected to
the Southern Arts Federation Board of Directors. The term
began July 1, 2003 and ends June 30, 2006.
In
addition, Dr. Ranta serves on boards for the Memphis/Shelby
County Film & Television Commission; Tennessee Film, Entertainment
and Music Commission; City of Memphis Civilian Law Enforcement
Review; Gilliam Communications, Inc; Concerts International;
Libertyland/Mid-South Fair; the Memphis Rotary Club; and the
Memphis Advertising Federation.
Established
in 1975, the Southern Arts Federation is a not-for-profit
regional arts organization supporting and promoting arts in
Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi,
North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. SAF is funded
by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), foundations,
corporations, individuals and member states.
