Two
historical displays are being presented by the Government
Publications department of the University Libraries this summer.
Throughout July, the exhibit "Race and Public Education
in Memphis" will document the course of school desegregation
in the city, including efforts involving the University of
Memphis.
During
August, the display will shift to the Civil War as seen through
the eyes of the common soldier.
Both
exhibits include numerous photographs and original documents.
They
are located on the fourth floor of the Ned R. McWherter Library,
near the entrance to the Special Collections department.
For
more information on these exhibits, call Tom Mendina at 678-4310.
