|College and University Housing Officers from Around the World Will Start Their American Tour June 13-14 at the U of M

An international group of college and university housing officers will get a first-hand look at the University of Memphis ' housing program June 13-14. Scheduled to visit are housing officers from Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as colleges and universities throughout the United States.
Each summer the group tours a series of university campuses before attending the Association of College and University Housing Officers International (ACUHO-I) conference. This year's tour starts in Memphis.
The U of M staff will host a dinner June 13 and make a presentation to the group June 14. The visitors will tour residence halls and meet with members of the U of M housing staff. They also will visit downtown and take a tour of Graceland.
After Memphis, the tour will go to Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Florida State, Central Florida, Jacksonville State, North Florida, and West Georgia. The group's final stop will be the ACUHO-I conference in Atlanta.
"This is an exciting opportunity, to have an international tour of housing programs within the United States begin at the University of Memphis," said Daniel Armitage, associate dean of students for residence life and dining services. "It will provide our staff an opportunity to learn from outstanding housing professionals from around the world, and it will enable us to showcase the exciting new things that are happening in housing at the University."
