Dr.
Allison Graham, professor of communication at the University
of Memphis, has been awarded a prestigious Leverhulme Trust
grant. It is a national award for scholars from outside the
United Kingdom to enable them to spend time conducting research
at British universities and collaborating with British academic
colleagues.
The
application was initiated by the School of American Studies
at the University of Nottingham, the top-rated American Studies
program in the U.K. The award, which provides significant
funds for research, will enable Graham to spend six months
in Britain next year giving presentations at Cambridge, Liverpool
and Leeds, consulting with colleagues, and enhancing the research
environment at those universities.
The
grant also will allow Graham to explore the relevant archives
for her continuing research in American Studies. More details
about the Leverhulme Trust and the grant are available online
at leverhulme.org.uk.
