Painter
Damian Loeb will discuss his work Thursday, March 11, at 7
p.m. in the Psychology Auditorium at the University of Memphis.
Loeb's
paintings often are panoramic depictions of disturbing stories.
The multi-faceted images are arranged sequentially, unfolding
like a film. The self-taught artist taps into pop cultural
images. His sources include fashion, movies, art history and
stock photography.
Loeb
has been showing his work at the Mary Boone Gallery in New
York since 1998, and also exhibits at the White Cube Gallery
in London and the Jablonka Galerie in Cologne, Germany.
