|Medical Ethics Prof. Will Lead Discussion April 17 on Death and Dying Issues

The University College of the University of Memphis will host a lecture and panel discussion on the issues of death and dying Monday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Michael D. Rose Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Larry Churchill will discuss "It's Your Right to Live or Die – or Is It?" Churchill holds the Ann Geddes Stahlman Chair in Medical Ethics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and is co-director of the Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society.
Following the talk, a guest panel will explore the legal, moral, and medical implications of the decision to prolong or end life. Panelists will include Dr. David Patterson, holder of the Bornblum Chair of Excellence in Judaic Studies at the U of M and director of the Bornblum Judaic Studies Program; Thaddeus Mason Pope, assistant professor of law at the U of M; and Rev. David Graham, pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church.
Parking is available in the parking garage just off Zach Curlin near the Rose Theatre.
