|Josephine Humphreys Will Be River City Writers Speaker March 26-27

Southern novelist Josephine Humphreys will be the guest of the River City Writers Series at the University of Memphis for two events March 26-27. Both events are free and open to the public.
She will read from her work on Monday, March 26, at the Fogelman Executive Center, Room 123. The event begins with a reception at 7:30 p.m., followed by the reading and book signing.
On March 27, she will give an interview at 10:30 a.m. in Patterson Hall, Room 456.
Humphreys’ 1987 novel Rich in Love was made into a feature film in 1993. Her most recent novel is Nowhere Else on Earth. She is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the 1984 Ernest Hemingway Foundation Award, the Lyndhurst Prize, and the American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature.
The River City Writers series is sponsored by the U of M English Department, the Creative Writing Club, Sigma Tau Delta, the Student Activities Council, Academic Enrichment Funds, Public Service Funds, the Hohenberg Foundation, Debra Talbot and Friends of the University Libraries.
