Franceschetti Receives Faudree Professorship

Dr. Donald Franceschetti, professor of physics at the University of Memphis , has been named recipient of the Faudree Professorship. He was honored at the University's recent Faculty Convocation. Franceschetti, who has taught at the U of M for 26 years, is a gifted teacher who is known for making time for his students. He is a prolific scholar with a wide range of interests that include ion kinetics in solids, dynamics of cognition, DNA computing, modeling of electrochemical systems, artificial intelligence, and physics education. The Faudree Professorship was established by philanthropists Helen and Jabie Hardin in honor of U of M Provost Ralph Faudree. The Hardins are longtime supporters of the University and have endowed two chairs of excellence. The Faudree Professorship honors a faculty member involved in engaged scholarship.
