Because the Art Museum of the University of Memphis will undergo renovations this summer, it will be closed from May 20 to August 27.

The museum will reopen Aug. 27 with Crossing the Blvd: Strangers, Neighbors, Aliens in a New America. The multidisciplinary, multimedia exhibition by Warren Lehrer and Judith Sloan will be on display through Nov. 10.

From Sept. 8 through Oct. 20, Adolph Gottlieb: Early Prints will showcase 40 small prints by the pioneer abstract expressionist.

The museum will be moving offices and creating new collection storage space. The changes will not affect the exhibition areas, said director Dr. Leslie Luebbers.  Caseworks in the museum lobby will remain open during the renovations with works by Gabe Martin, Erin King, Ian Lemmonds, Richard Gamble and Carl E. Moore.
