Summer is a time for fun, but it can also be a time to expand your knowledge and skills. With summer courses from Professional & Continuing Education at the University of Memphis, you can brush up on your Spanish, learn how to cut the clutter in your home, create a Web page, prepare your home for sale and much more.
Summer registration begins May 18. Courses start around the first week of June and run through late August.
Among the most popular classes are the “So You Want to Be …” offerings. They include courses on how to be a movie star, private investigator, professional organizer, published writer, real estate agent and eBay trader, among others.
A number of technology courses are also being offered, including “Facing the Future: Basics of MySpace/Facebook/Blogs,” Navigating the Web,” “Creating Your Webspace,” and “What You’ve Always Wanted to Know About Webmail.”
There are also classes for teachers, e.g., “Managing Your Gradebook With Excel,” “Organization and Time Management for Teachers,” “Contracting Good Behavior”, as well as “Project Management Certification.”
Professional & Continuing Education is not publishing a print catalog for summer, but class listings are available by fax or email. A complete course listing, download of a complete course catalog and online registration are available at: umce.memphis.edu
