Will Explore Physics at The U of M Nov. 21 and Dec. 5

Experimental
physics, careers in physics, and the physics of sports are
among the topics that local high school students will explore
during Physics Day at The University of Memphis. The two-day
event will host more than 160 students from White Station
High School on Thursday, Nov. 21, and on Dec. 5 the event
will be replicated for students from other area schools. Activities
on both dates will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Manning
Hall, which houses the Physics Department at The U of M.
Topics
will include "Exploits in Experimental Physics,"
"Gone With the Wind" and "The Physics of Sports."
The
event is designed to introduce students to careers in physics,
as well as to acquaint them with degree programs and research
