Multi-talented Peter Singer Will Visit U of M Nov. 18

Philosopher, ethicist, and author Peter Singer will visit the University of Memphis Friday, Nov. 18, to discuss "Ethics for One World." His talk will begin at 1 p.m. in the Psychology Auditorium. A reception and book signing will follow. The program is free and open to the public.

Singer is the author of many books, including The Great Ape Project: Equality Beyond Humanity, Animal Liberation: A New Ethics for Animals, and One World, a text used in a U of M honors globalization course.

An Australian citizen, Singer is the Ira W. DeCamp Professor of Bioethics in the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University.

The program is sponsored jointly by Co-Sponsorship, the Marcus W. Orr Center for the Humanities, the University Honors Program, the Honors Student Council and the Undergraduate Philosophy Circle.
