Looking at Jazz Series Will Feature Trombonist Luis Bonilla Nov. 15

Acclaimed New York trombonist Luis Bonilla will perform as part of the viewing and discussion series Looking at Jazz: America’s Art Form.  “Latin Jazz” will be presented Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. at the Germantown Performing Arts Center, 1801 Exeter Road.  Admission is free.

Latin jazz was popularized in the late 1940s by Dizzy Gillespie and Stan Kenton. The flavor and background of Latin jazz are the subjects of the Nov. 15th program.

The series is being presented by the University Libraries of the University of Memphis through a grant from the American Library Association and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
