University and community college administrators from the Mid-South will meet at The University of Memphis on Oct. 25 to discuss ways to improve the academic transfer process between those two types of institutions. The Transfer and Articulation Conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Fogelman Executive Center.

President Shirley Raines and Dr. John Haddock, vice provost for academic affairs, will represent The U of M. Among the speakers will be Dr. Kay Clark, associate vice chancellor for academic affairs for the Tennessee Board of Regents.

The conference will re-examine current issues and identify new challenges in the transfer and articulation process, and participants will establish a practical plan for achieving common goals that are identified during the session.

The free conference, which is sponsored by the Office of Academic Affairs, includes lunch at the University of Memphis Holiday Inn and a tour of the U of M campus.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 16. A registration form is available at http://academics.memphis.edu/actran/.
