Ethics
of Electronic Information Symposium Set for Oct. 24-27

Scholars
from across the world will attend a symposium Oct. 24-27 at
The University of Memphis to examine issues critical to management
of information in the electronic age. "Ethics of Electronic
Information in the 21st Century" will be held at the
University's Fogelman Executive Center.
Scholars
and practitioners will share their research concerning ethical
issues related to the proliferation of electronic information
and information technology. Representatives from South Africa,
China, Scotland, Canada and the U.S. are scheduled to attend.
Session
leaders will include Wallace Koehler, director of the master
of library and information science program at Valdosta State
University in Georgia; Netiva Caftori, professor of computer
science and women's studies at Northeastern Illinois University;
J.J. Britz, professor of information science at the University
of Pretoria, South Africa; and Peter Lor, director of the
National Library of South Africa.
