of Electronic Information Symposium Set for Oct. 23-26

An
international panel of scholars and technology professionals
will attend a symposium Oct. 23-26 at The University of Memphis
to examine issues critical to management of information in
the electronic age. "Ethics of Electronic Information
in the 21st Century" will be held at the University's
Fogelman Executive Center.
Scholars
and practitioners will share their research concerning ethical
issues related to the growth of electronic information and
information technology. Representatives from South Africa,
the Netherlands, Canada and across the U.S. are scheduled
to attend.
Special
sessions will included "The Evolving Face of the Digital
Divide in the 21st Century," chaired by Sandy Schaeffer,
associate director of the Advanced Learning Institute at the
FedEx Institute of Technology; and "The USA Patriot Act:
Implications and Outcomes," chaired by Dr. Sylverna Ford,
U of M dean of libraries.
