Busch Will Speak Nov. 3-4 as Part of River City Writers Series

The
University of Memphis River City Writers Series will welcome
author Frederick Busch for a trio of events Nov. 3-4, all
free and open to the public.
Busch
will hold a reading Wednesday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. in the Fogelman
Executive Center, Room 123. A book signing and refreshments
will follow.
On
Thursday, Nov. 4, he will meet with students at 11:30 a.m.
in Patterson Hall, Room 456. He will teach a writing workshop
at 3 p.m. that day in Patterson Hall, Room 403.
Busch
is the author of more than 26 volumes of short stories, novels,
and other works, including The Night Inspector, Girls,
The Children in the Woods and Harry and Catherine:
A Love Story. He has received Guggenheim, NEA, and Woodrow
Wilson fellowships.
The
River City Writers series is sponsored jointly by the Student
Activities Council, the English Department, the Creative Writing
Club, Sigma Tau Delta, the Hohenberg Foundation, Deborah Talbot,
Academic Enrichment Funds, Public Service Funds, and Friends
of the University Libraries.
