|Hooks Institute for Social Change Will Hold Open House Oct. 20

The Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the University of Memphis will host an open house Thursday, Oct. 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the University Center, Room 405.
Guests will learn about the Hooks Institute's programming and activities, which are dedicated to continuing the struggles for racial and social justice, including relief efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The staff will provide information about Hooks Institute Working Groups, which bring together interested members of the University community to discuss a wide range of topics, including globalization, poverty, critical race studies, Pan-African studies, and many others.
There also will be a chance to meet the staff and learn about volunteer opportunities at the Institute.
Refreshments will be provided.
