|River City Writers Series Will Feature Jill McCorkle Oct. 25-26

Author Jill McCorkle will visit the University of Memphis' River City Writers Series for three events Oct. 25-26. All events are free and open to the public.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, McCorkle will read from her work at 7 p.m. at Dixon Gallery & Gardens, 4339 Park Ave.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, she will participate in two events on the U of M campus. At 11:30 a.m. McCorkle will hold an interview with students in Patterson Hall, Room 456. At 3 p.m. she will conduct a writing workshop in Patterson Hall, Room 403.
McCorkle is the author of five novels and three short story collections, including The Cheer Leader, Creatures of Habit, Final Vinyl Days, Carolina Moon, and Crash Diet. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she earned a master's degree from Hollins College. McCorkle made literary history when her first two novels were published simultaneously by Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill. Her fiction has been selected four times by the New York Times Book Review for its Notable Books of the Year list. She teaches at Harvard University.
