The University of Memphis’ Adult and Commuter Student Services (ACSS) office has partnered with Off Campus Partners Inc. to launch a new Web site designed to make the off-campus housing search process simpler for students, faculty, and staff. Campus and community resource links are also accessible through the site, which is www.memphis.edu/offcampushousing.
The first in Tennessee and the only one of its kind in the Memphis area, the site is user-friendly and offers many features to help make the search for off-campus housing as easy as possible. The U of M’s site joins a growing number of similar sites created by colleges and universities across the country as the student demand for affordable housing options increases.
Some key features of the U of M site include a fully searchable database, photographs and floor plans of properties, driving directions to properties, email contacts for property representatives, and for-sale listings. Site users will also be able to make use of message boards to communicate their interests regarding roommates and sublets, furnishings, campus events, graduate assistantships, study abroad, and more.
The U of M office of Adult and Commuter Student Services, which is located on the fifth floor of Wilder Tower, assists commuter students (students who do not live in University-owned property), as well as adult/non-traditional age students (those aged 25 or older). Its services include a lounge area with refrigerator and microwave, study area, computer lab, tutoring, campus resource information, child care information, transportation information, training seminars, and more.More information is available from Joy R. Stout, director, or Heather Hampton, office coordinator, at 901-678-2644 or via email at email@example.com.
