The
Loewenberg School of Nursing at The University of Memphis
has again received accreditation from the National League
of Nursing Accrediting Commission. The group's latest accreditation
is valid through 2010.
The
evaluation is based on a self-study report, the School catalog
and a program evaluator report. The Commission noted as areas
of strength the leadership of the School's nurse administrator,
support for the nursing program, and the integrity of the
School's curriculum.
"I
am grateful that we continue to be blessed by outstanding
students, faculty and staff, and community support,"
said Dr. Toni Bargagliotti, the School's dean. "Their
work makes this accreditation outcome possible."
The
Loewenberg School, established in 1980, has 304 students and
20 faculty members. Its students have consistently had an
extremely high rate of passage on licensure exams; the latest
such rate is 99 percent.
