Phillip Kolbe Named Morgan Keegan Professor at the U of M

Associate Professor Phillip Kolbe has been awarded the Morgan Keegan Professorship at the University of Memphis.

The $12,500 prize goes to tenured or tenure-track faculty in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in research, teaching, scholarship, service, community outreach and fundraising.

Kolbe is also a recipient of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America Fellow Award for Excellence in Teaching and the U of M's Distinguished Teaching Award. He was the first recipient of the Thomas W. Briggs Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award at the University.

His other academic honors include the University College Advising Award and the Suzanne Downs Palmer Professorship in teaching.

A former Air Force special operations officer and a corporate president and CEO, Kolbe has authored numerous publications on real estate and finance.
