The 17th annual Career and Internship Expo and the Volunteer Fair, sponsored by the University of Memphis Office of Career and Employment Services, the Office of Student Activities, and the Academic Internship Office will offer students and alumni an opportunity to find jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities with more than 90 employers and service organizations.
Both events will take place simultaneously Wednesday, September 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Career and Internship Expo will be held in University Center Ballroom, and the Volunteer Fair will be in the Faulkner Lounge. Both events are free.
Employers such as FedEx Ground, Alltel, International Paper, Medtronic Inc., Nike, Disney, and many others will offer internships as well as entry-level and advanced positions. Participants can network, obtain career information, and gain experience talking to employers. Some employers will offer on-site interviews, so attendees should dress suitably and bring copies of their resume.
These employers join organizations such as the Red Cross, Baptist Trinity Hospice, the Animal Protection Association, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which will provide information on how to become volunteers with their organizations.
For more information, including a list of participants, call the Office of Career and Employment Services at 901-678-2239 or visit its Web site, saweb.memphis.edu/ces.
Additional information about the Volunteer Fair can be obtained from the Office of Student Activities at 678-2035.
