Pull on your blue jeans and cowboys boots for a good old-fashioned family hoedown, when the University of Memphis hosts “Boots, Brims and BBQ” Saturday, October 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the farm of U of M alumnus and Tenn. Rep. Jimmy Eldridge (R-Jackson) at 276 Bear Creek Road in Pinson, Tenn.
Special guests will include U of M President Shirley Raines and Tiger basketball head coach John Calipari. Activities and entertainment will include games, bluegrass music, Memphis barbecue, hay rides, and face painting.
“We hope everyone from Jackson and the surrounding area will come out and enjoy this time with their fellow University of Memphis Tigers,” said Tammy Hedges, executive director of the Alumni Association and director of alumni and constituent relations. “There will be lots of family activities, good music, good food, and fellowship.”
There is no charge to attend, but reservations are required by October 1. They can be made by phone at 901-678-3119 or via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The event is hosted by the Alumni Association and the Office of Government Relations.
