U of M Will Host International Merleau-Ponty Circle Meeting Sept. 27-29

The University of Memphis Philosophy Department will host the annual meeting of the International Merleau-Ponty Circle September 27-29, at the Holiday Inn Select Downtown. The conference will feature the concept of “Passivity” as its main topic of discussion.

The meeting will bring together leading scholars who are studying the work of 20th century French philosopher Maurice Merleau-Ponty.  Among the speakers will be John Russon of the University of Guelph, Canada, and Rosalyn Diprose of the University of New South Wales, Australia.
