Our sessions for adult and transfer students are specifically designed for new freshmen 23 years of age and older and all new transfer students. You will learn about the General Education program, Adult and Commuter Student Services, the Center for Academic Transition, student life and campus resources. New transfer and adult students may schedule appointments with their academic advisors as soon as they are admitted to the University of Memphis, and appointments should take place prior to attending Orientation. Academic advising is required before registering for courses each semester. After you have met with your advisor, you will be cleared to register on the MyMemphis portal. For academic advising appointments, Transfer Students may contact the Center for Academic Transition at (901) 678-2783 or their college academic advisors. New Adult Freshman Students may contact the Academic Counseling Center at (901) 678-2062.
