Teaching

Ms. West currently teaches Child Health Nursing, challenging students to analyze the specialty of nursing care with infants, children, and adolescents, and apply their knowledge in the clinical setting.

Service

Ms. West serves on the Student Affairs committee at Loewenberg School of Nursing, and serves as the faculty counselor for Sigma Theta Tau National Nurses Honor Society, Beta Theta Chapter-at-Large. She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Society of Pediatric Nurses, the National League for Nursing, and Sigma Theta Tau National Nurses Honor Society.

Practice

Ms. West is a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) through the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators, and a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) through the Pediatric Nurse Certification Board. On weekends she works on an as needed basis for Maxim Heathcare's Pediatric Services.

Scholarship

Ms. West is currently completing her PhD in Education with a Nursing Education specialty.  Her area of interest in research involves teaching strategies in the clinical setting.
