Teaching
Dr. Potipatsa has taught in the Maternal-Child and Pediatric Nursing Program in Thailand
since 1988. She has also taught Research in Nursing, Trends in Nursing Professional,
Content Mastery (preparing seniors for the licensure exam) in Pediatric Nursing of
the BSN Program, and mentored International Master of Nursing Students for Midwifery
Nursing.
Research
Dr. Potipatsa completed her Doctor of Nursing Philosophy study at University of Illinois
at Chicago School of Nursing, graduating in May of 2009. Her scholarly project "Thalassemia
Education for Thai High School Students: Evaluation Tool" initiated the curriculum
for teaching high school students about Thalassemia, which has high prevalence in
Thailand, in terms of concerning to visit antenatal clinic earlier within 12 weeks
of gestational age for investigation. Her last few studies focused on nursing education
and systematic thinking. These research findings contributed the knowledge applying
to improve nursing education in terms of appropriate strategies for teaching.
Service
Dr. Potipatsa has participated the Journal of Nurses' Association of Thailand, North-
eastern Division as an Assistant Editor in Chief and Peer Reviewer since 2009. This
journal had the highest impact factor score in 2010 and distributed nursing research
studies and nursing knowledge for Thai nurses. She has also served as a Curriculum
Development Committee Member for the International Master of Nursing Science and Midwifery
Nursing for Nursing Colleges and Universities in Thailand since 2011. In addition,
she has worked as commentator for researches and academic presentations around the
country.
Practice
Besides teaching nursing students,Dr. Potipatsa directed nursing care for a medical-surgical
adult and pediatric unit at the Watana Private hospital as a part-time nurse for twelve
years. She also had her own private clinic to practice as a nursing practitioner for
a few years.
Dr. Potipatsa worked as a Head of Pediatric Nursing Department, a Child Care Center
and an Academic Service Department for four years in each position. She has also been
certified as a Quality Assurance Investigator since 2011.
