Background:
Professor Millie Logan is a Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist.
Her certification is in Family Practice. Professor Logan has practiced nursing for
21 years and has been a Nurse Practitioner for 16 of these years.
Teaching Expertise:
Professor Logan has taught at Lowenberg School of Nursing for almost three years.
Her teaching experiences include psychiatric and family practice nursing.
Education:
Professor Logan has earned a Bachelors of Science degree in biology from the University
of Memphis, a Bachelors of Science degree and Masters of Science degree from the University
of Tennessee Health Science Center in Nursing.
Research Interests:
Professor Logan is currently obtaining a PhD in Nursing at the University of Arizona.
Her research interests include understanding psychiatric disorders in African Americans
and the interplay between psychiatric disorders and chronic disease.
Community and Professional Service:
Professor Logan is presently serving on the Faculty Affairs committee at Lowenberg
School of Nursing. She has worked in psychiatry and provided psychiatric care for
children and adolescents, adults and geriatric populations. In the community she participates
in numerous health fairs to promote mental health among African Americans.
