Renee Morris, MSN, RN Clinical Assistant Professor

Teaching Expertise: Prof. Morris has been in nursing education since 2007 as a full time faculty member
for an Associate Degree in Nursing at the local community college. Her teaching experience
has been in the concentration of Adult Medical Surgical Nursing. Prof. Morris currently
teaches full-time in the undergraduate nursing program on the U of M Lambuth Campus.
Her courses include Medical-Surgical I Nursing, Medical-Surgical I Practicum, Health
Assessment, and Health Assessment Laboratory. Service: Prof. Morris currently volunteers for several community organizations. She is the
treasurer and secretary for the Crockett County Homerun Booster Club that provides
services to the Crockett County High School Baseball Program, actively involve with
Alamo City School's Fellowship of Christian Athletes, teaches K-5 children's church
at First Christian Church of Alamo. She is a member of the National League for Nursing. Education: In 1989, Prof. Morris graduated from University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Nursing. In 2012, she graduated from the University of Memphis
with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing with a nursing education focus. Practice: Prof. Morris has 24 years of practice experience that includes: acute care nursing,
emergency room medicine, invasive cardiac care specialist for a heart catheterization
laboratory, certified and practiced occupational health nursing for two large food
companies, and nursing education for upper level nursing. Family and Personal Interest: Prof. Morris is married, and has 3 children: 18 year-old son, 8 and 11 year-old daughters,
2 stepsons, 2 step-daughters-in-law, and 3 step-grandchildren. She loves living in
the country with her family and 6 dogs, one cat and 5 horses. She spends her spare
time riding horses, swimming, and being a spectator and cheerleader for her children
with their extra-curricular activities: baseball, basketball, softball, and horseback
riding.
