Tracy Collins, MSN, APN, RN Clinical Assistant Professor

Teaching:
Professor Tracy Collins primarily instructs in the LSON MSN Family Nurse Practitioner
program. She also coordinates the Advanced Health Assessment labs. She is an Advanced
Practice Nurse (APN) and educator that practice the Holistic Theory, meaning one who
considers an individual's spiritual, mental, and physical state. She has implement
this approach in healthcare and educational experiences, and found it allows her to
reach each person individually as well as collectively.
Practice:
Professor Collins is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has worked as an
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APN) in the city of Memphis for 14 years. Professor
Collins professional history includes experience in critical care, emergency department,
gastroenterology, patient/family counseling, and teaching procedural delivery, supporting
administrative personnel, staff development, and preceptor functions.
Service:
ProfessorCollins holds memberships with American Nurses Association, National League
for Nurses, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and the Greater Memphis Area
Advanced Practice Nurses. She serves as an advisor to MSN students and the Student
Nurses Association. Professor Collins also serves on the Faculty Affairs committee.
