Welcome to the Loewenberg School of Nursing at University of Memphis!
It is an exciting time for nursing as the public continues to rank Nursing as the
“most ethical” profession. The Future of Nursing reported by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) recommends that nurses practice to the full extent of their education and training,
achieve higher levels of education and training through an improved education system
that promote seamless academic progression, and be full partners in redesigning health
care in the United States. In addition, effective workforce planning and policy require
better data collection and an improved information infrastructure. It is a critical
time for Nursing education as it is transformed to prepare graduates to meet the ever
changing healthcare needs.
LSON offers learner-centered, accessible, innovative, and high quality undergraduate and graduate programs that are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Faculty, students, staff, and community partners share a common goal of preparing healthcare leaders and promoting health of the global community.
