Dr. Schrotberger has been in nursing education since 2004 with a primary interest in using human patient simulation with undergraduate nursing students. She currently teaches full-time in the undergraduate nursing program on the Lambuth Campus and serves as assistant dean of the nursing program there. Her courses include Foundations of Patient-Centered Care, Foundational Nursing Skills, and Transitions into Professional Nursing Practice. Her practice specialty is oncology and hospice/palliative care. She is a certified hospice and palliative care nurse.
Dr. Schrotberger serves on the Evaluation Committee, Undergraduate Council, Dean's Leadership Council, Strategic Committee, Admissions Committee and FAR Committee. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association (TNA), and the National League for Nursing. Dr. Schrotberger serves as the treasurer of TNA District 6.
Dr. Schrotberger received her BSN from the University of South Alabama, where she was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award. She received her MSN in nursing education from Union University. She received a PhD in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University. Her research focus was prebriefing in simulation experiences by undergraduate nursing faculty.
