Teaching:
Prof. Shepherd teaches Introduction to Medical Surgical Nursing Practicum at the University of Memphis Loewenberg School of Nursing. In the past she has taught Nursing Concepts, Pathophysiology, Adult Health, and Critical Care.

Research:
Prof. Shepherd’s research interest includes strategies for utilizing innovative teaching/learning methods and health disparities.

Service:
Prof. Shepherd is a member of the Alabama League for Nursing and the National League for nursing. Her previous service includes the Student Affairs Committee, March of Dimes, and Search your Heart.

Education:
Prof. Shepherd obtained both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Samford University in Birmingham, AL.
