| Matt's area of specialization is 20th century continental philosophy with an emphasis
in phenomenology. His dissertation, tentatively titled "The Birth of the World: An
Exploration of Husserl's Genetic Phenomenology," provides an interpretation and analysis
of Husserl's genetic theory of intentionality in perceptual experience. His research
interests include enactive cognition and recent developments in phenomenology in France.
Matt also has an enduring interest in the history of philosophy, especially Aristotle's
philosophy and Kant and German idealism.
