Research and Teaching

Matt's chief research interests are in recent continental philosophy with a focus on the works of Jean-Paul Sartre, Frantz Fanon, and Michel Foucault. More specifically, his research attempts to address the role that violence plays in the thought of these thinkers. His interests also extend to the history of early modern philosophy and the rise of modern political philosophy and moral theory.
