While Heidi's background is in the history of philosophy, her research interests are
predominantly in 20th- and 21st-century philosophy, including classical phenomenology
in the Husserlian vein, embodied cognition, and more recent French thinkers including
Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze.
She is currently writing her dissertation entitled "Out of Joint: The Nexus of Madness
and Time-Consciousness." The aim of her project is to provide a Foucaultian analysis
and critique of the overlap of time-consciousness and madness in the modern era.
Her favorite course to teach, oddly enough, is logic.
