Research and Teaching
Tailer’s primary interests include philosophy of mind and cognitive science, especially in the developing areas of 4E cognition, distributed cognition and theories of material engagement. He is also interested in exploring how these theories (in intersection with phenomenology and Marxist critical theory) can contribute to discussions on collective intentionality and group agency. This involves analyses of the relationships between economically mediated social interactions, material engagement, ideologically motivated narrative practices and the various ways in which cognition is embedded in and constituted by the artifacts, institutions and practices that compose our lifeworld.
