Research and Teaching

John's philosophical interests are in African-American Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Education, Marxism, Ethics, and "Being best in the world at what I do."

John is also in charge of coordinating the Philosophy Department's Philosophical Horizons program, which aims to introduce the history and practice of philosophy to Memphis schoolchildren.
