Research and Teaching
Jonathan's main philosophical interest include socio-political philosophy, feminism, post-colonial theory and 20th century French philosophy (esp. Michel Foucault and Emmanuel Levinas). His work, broadly speaking, revolves around a politics of difference and the opening up of epistemic and discursive boundaries put in place by normative discourse. Recently he has been working on problems concerning the relation between pedagogy and political agency.
