The Greek Reading Group engages in reading, translating, and discussing historically
significant philosophical writings in the original ancient Greek. The purpose of the
group is to maintain, through practice and discussion, a high level of expertise in
the translation of Greek philosophical texts and, through the critical study of those
texts, a better understanding of the ancient philosophical views expressed by them.
The group is led by Prof. Tim Roche and meets once a week throughout the academic year. Members of the group are limited
to graduate students and faculty with advanced training in ancient Greek.
