Dear Campus Community,

We are greatly saddened by the tragic event in Orlando, Florida. When the loss of innocent lives is the result of hate, as a society, we must respond. As our campus comes together in solidarity, we will support those of us who are grieving, feeling helpless and angry as we continue to reaffirm our commitment to the inclusion and safety of each individual.

The Offices of Student Leadership & Involvement, Multicultural Affairs and the Counseling Center will lead us in reflection and remembrance tomorrow, Wednesday, June 15 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the University Center Atrium. All students, staff, faculty and community members are welcome to attend. Psychologists will be available for private meetings, and the Counseling Center is available 24/7. In cases of emergency after hours, call 678-HELP. Information from the American Psychological Association is also available here.

In the coming weeks, the Critical Conversations Committee will continue to plan events and discussions focused on diversity, inclusiveness and anti-violence.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this senseless incident.
