David Cox Executive Assistant to the President for Partnerships and Administration David assists in developing University-wide partnerships and represents the University in local and national collaboratives. He serves as the liaison with area neighborhoods and the University Neighborhood Development Corporation. David chairs the Strategic Planning Taskforce and works with the President and university leadership on policy and program issues.

Kevin Roper Executive Assistant to the President for Government Relations Kevin is responsible for government relations which works with elected officials on legislative and funding issues for the University. The office works with faculty on federal and agency funding for research programs and with state legislators and officials on capital funding and legislative and contract issues through the University's "Insourcing" program. He works with local governments and school boards. His office hosts elected officials when attending events on campus.

Stephanie Beasley Assistant to the President for Community Relations Stephanie coordinates external relations and University activities within the community for the benefit of the University including community groups and organizations, businesses, senior corporate officers, and educational leaders. In addition, she serves as a liaison with the University of Memphis Board of Visitors and Foundation Board of Trustees.

Sheri Lipman University Counsel Sheri is responsible for the legal work of the University, which includes a broad array of issues from contracts to employment matters to intellectual property. She is assisted by the employees of the Office of Legal Counsel, which she manages. The mission of the office is to provide timely and competent legal assistance to all areas of the University and to assist the University in accomplishing its mission.

Michelle Banks Director, Office of Diversity, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Michelle directs the Office of Diversity, Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action, which monitors compliance with University policies and state and federal laws related to equal opportunity and affirmative action guidelines. She serves as the liaison with external agencies related to discrimination complaints and compliance. The office addresses complaints related to discriminatory actions and harassment and questions related to hiring processes and procedures, harassment, the University access and diversity initiatives and Title VI compliance.

Marla Stuart Director, Internal Audit Marla is responsible for the Internal Audit department and has dual reporting responsibility to the President and to the Tennessee Board of Regents. Internal Audit independently evaluates University operations for efficiency and effectiveness in achieving organizational goals.

Arlene Abernathy Administrative Associate Arlene coordinates activities related to President Raines' participation on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the NCAA, the Board of Directors of Conference USA and the Faculty Athletic Advisory Committee. She also assists in managing the President's schedule and provides support for David Cox with the Strategic Planning Taskforce and the University Neighborhood Development Corporation.
