The University of Memphis has invested in a systematic and sophisticated process for
making experiential learning credit available to our students – especially those who
have many years of experience from industry. This process is managed by the University
College and is now available for our programs in the Fogelman College of Business
& Economics as well. For information on the announcement, please review the letter from Dr. Richard L. Irwin, the Associate Dean of University College.
Students enrolled in the Professional and Online MBA programs will be allowed to use
a maximum of three-credit hours of experiential learning credit for the purposes of
meeting their one course elective requirement (for students without a concentration;
for students with a concentration, the three-credit hours will apply towards the 15-credit
hours needed to complete a concentration). In order to obtain the three-credit hours,
you must submit a portfolio for review. The University College has developed a process
you should follow in order to receive your credit. For more information on the process,
please refer to the University College’s Experiential Learning Credit website.
