Grubaugh, who also is director of the Meeman Biological Field Station, is recognized
as an excellent advisor and teacher who makes learning biology interesting. “His courses
are rigorous and challenging, yet he manages to make learning the material more entertaining
than drudgery for his students,” writes Dr. Charles Lessman, interim chairman of the
Biology Department. “He takes students on field trips and gets them involved in the
practical aspects of field biology and ecology.”
